Rethymno Travel Guide

Nestled between Chania and Heraklio, Rhetymno and the area that surrounds it have a mix of characteristics of their neighbors: there is palm trees and sandy beaches, but also Venetian architecture and old villages steeped in tradition. Agia Pelagia, with its easygoing atmosphere, is great for relaxing close to all comforts, while the sandy cove of Ammoudi is best for those who want to spend a quiet day by the water. The old town of Rhetymno itself has a nice fishing port and a very pleasant atmosphere, and is especially pretty at sunset, but is also worth stopping at for dinner, as here you will find a vast array of dining options.
