Castel Nuovo

The Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Naples: built in the 1200s by Charles of Anjou, it has an imposing size and its position, right by the water, makes it easy to visit even if you only have a few hours to spare while waiting for a ferry at the nearby port. Home to the Museo Civico, the castle is definitely worth a visit as it gives a good insight into the history of the city of Naples.
