A nice and quiet town with an airy feeling to it, Benevento is a clean and tidy city with beautiful buildings, lots of pastel color walls and interesting Roman ruins: above all don’t miss the Roman theatre and the stunning Trajan Arch. The town’s Duomo, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, was largely rebuilt in the 1950s and 1960s, after being destroyed during World War II, and has a beautiful interior, definitely worth checking out.
