Mykonos

A speck of glitz and glamour in the Aegean

Probably one of the most famous Greek islands, Mykonos is known as the “cool” place to be, but it is much more than that. Visitors appreciate the relatively easy access of its amazing, sandy beaches and the very distinctive aura that the island has become known for: upscale and chic, Mykonos is all about fun, rest, relaxation and, of course, nightlife and glamour. The size of the island, the variety of its beaches and the range of activities offered make it a great destination for almost everyone - from those who want to sleep all day and party the night away to others who want to sunbathe on some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. In the past, Mykonos was famous for being the premier Mediterranean resort for gay travelers, today, although still very gay-friendly, it caters to a more varied clientele. Because of its notoriety Mykonos is one of the most visited islands of the Cyclades, where one can rub elbows with an international and trendy crowd, especially during high season. During the low season things get a little quieter and Mykonos can be enjoyed at a slower pace.
