Mergui Archipelago Travel Guide

The unspoiled archipelago of Burma

This beautiful archipelago of more than 800 islands in the south of Burma is a paradise for nature lovers, as its isolation from the continent means unspoiled panoramas, lush vegetation and crystal clear waters. The archipelago was opened to international visitors only as recently as 1997, which means that those who want to explore new and uncharted territories should definitely plan a visit here, although now things are rapidly changing and resorts and golf courses are being built on the islands. Diving is also wonderful around here: the best time to go is between December and April, when the weather is beautiful and the visibility amazing.
