Moving around in Krabi

Once in Krabi, the main ways to move around are pickup trucks called songthaews that run frequently between Krabi town and Ao Nang Beach, and boats that connect the many islands and beaches in Krabi. They include daily ferries to the islands of Ko Phi Phi, Ko Lanta, and Ko Jum that leave from the passenger port three kilometers outside Krabi town, and abundant long-tail boats that make shorter trips between the town and the beach areas as well as between the beaches. Taxis and motorcycle taxis are also available, and motorbike and car rental in Krabi are available at many local hotels and travel agents. The road network in Krabi is good around national parks and other attractions, but many popular destinations in Krabi, including Rai Leh Beach and Koh Phi Phi actually do not have any roads.
