Porto Cervo

When one thinks of Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo is the first thing that comes to mind: glitzy and hip, the village was built from the ground up in the 1960s by the Aga Khan specifically to become a holiday destination for the rich and famous, which is exactly what it is nowadays. Pastel colored houses overlook the marina where super yachts are moored, the alleys, bars and restaurants buzz with activity and the atmosphere is elegant and sometimes surreal. Its main square is, of course, the place to see and be seen, and it’s the place to visit for some very high end luxury shopping. The modern church of Stella Maris, perched high above town, is beautiful and offers stunning views of the sea.
