Foggia is an important and strategic town in the centre of the Tavoliere of Puglia, and a great starting point to explore the Tremiti Islands.
If you are considering a trip to Puglia, don’t overlook Foggia! This quiet, low-profile town has a very nice southern-Italian feel to it and is lively without being overwhelming. Its streets are buzzing with activity, but you won’t find many tourists wandering around: here the majority of people you meet are locals. Foggia’s baroque buildings, and its beautiful Cathedral in particular, are definitely click-worthy, and if you are hungry you are in luck, as the town is dotted with a wide variety of quirky and interesting restaurants and bars.
