Catania and surroundings

Lively markets and coastal towns of great charm

The southern part of the Sicilian Ionic coast is a stretch dotted with fishing towns and villages that, to this day, are strongly rooted in tradition and a very authentic feel to them. Catania, with its port and airport, is the main hub in the region and is also a wonderful town that is well worth a visit, especially if you want to see an incredible and lively market. The costal villages of Riposto, Aci Castello, Acireale and Acitrezza are also worthy of a stop, if only to admire the sea and enjoy a slow and leisurely meal, Sicilian style.
