Cagliari is the largest city in Sardinia, but don’t let this deter you from visiting, as the town is truly beautiful and home to stunning medieval churches, interesting art galleries and a multitude of stores. If you are flying into Cagliari, take a few hours to visit the town: the harbor and marina are located in the lower part of town, while the old town is perched higher up. Here you will find the Archeological Museum and the Bastione di San Remy gate, where locals meet to hang out. Its towers offer breathtaking views of the area, and the wonderful Mercato San Benedetto nearby is a fun place to spend a few hours.
