Argentario Travel Guide

Tuscany’s wild and beautiful promontory

Lesser known than the other areas in Tuscany, the Argentario promontory takes its name from the eponymous mountain, and overlooks a long stretch of beautiful coast surrounded by a lush and amazing nature. Both sandy and rocky, the beaches in this area are known for their beauty and wilderness, while the waters are clear and perfect for swimming. The area is great for a large number of activities, including hiking and biking, and it’s the getaway to some of the most beautiful islands in Italy, such as Giglio, Elba and Montecristo, very popular with sailors looking for a relaxing sailboat vacation. Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano are the town main towns in the Argentario, where you can find most of the accommodation options, restaurants and activities.
