An island fit for foodies, Sifnos

Sifnos is simultaneously one of the most upscale and elegant islands of the Cyclades, yet it also keeps a low profile and retains a certain simple charm. It might look rugged and uninviting at first, but is actually exactly the opposite: the island features gently rolling hills, lush terraced olive groves, and a strong scent of aromatic herbs that wafts through the air. The architecture is traditional, yet embellished by local touches, the cuisine is distinctive and absolutely delicious (the island has a reputation as a foodie island), the people are friendly, and the landscape is simply breathtaking. The island is crossed by many paths, making it an ideal destination for those who enjoy hiking and beautiful natural scenery. Sifnos is a little gem, a place to discover and enjoy in all seasons.

Sifnos for...
  • Couple
  • Families
  • Solo Traveler
  • Group

Sophisticated and beautiful, Sifnos is an ideal destination for a romantic getaway, especially for couples who enjoy beautiful breaks surrounded by nature. Additionally, it’s an idyllic place to hold a wedding celebration.

Sifnos is a great spot for a family vacation, as many beaches are sandy with shallow waters. Kamares, with its long, shallow and sandy beach and cafés and restaurants, is perfect for families with younger children.

Solo travelers can have a great time exploring the diverse and beautiful corners of Sifnos. And after swimming or hiking, they can indulge in some Reiki, Shiatsu massages, or a Greek cookery class.

There’s a lot to do and see in Sifnos, which can be wonderful when traveling with large groups of friends.  A pottery workshop can be a fun way to spend an afternoon when you’re tired of the beach.
